80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?
Ruck Me, Maul Me, Make Me Scrum!
Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
Any news on what he's up to next season? Be nice to see him back in blue (n'black).
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
I don't think we'll see him back again (i'd be happy to be proven wrong though!) - he still has an opportunity to continue to support his family & get that balance up there for when it's really needed - that's obviously his main motivation and good luck to him for putting his family first.
I think he is still signed to a Japanese club.
On that point interesting to note that more and more South African players seem to playing both Japan and Super 16 competitions.
Is this a sign of things to come globally, surely at some stage the supply of players for Japan must exceed the demand?
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
Possibly a sign of SA players being moved on as they try and get their quota up (or has that idea been dropped?)
Lots of young players (white and 'coloured' - hate that term) who are talented but could find their path to professional rugby blocked as they aren't black (or not black enough). If they can go to Japan or Europe (or WA!) and find a professional contract and possibly a chance to put down roots and represent their adoptive country, the more the merrier.
Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
I think Tazz is more referring to players doing the offseason in Japan while still playing Super Rugby - I believe JP Pietersen did that for 3 years straight.
