It's telling to look at the combined table for SR 18 teams.
The Force has lost to teams all in the top half (1,4, 6 & 9)
The only win was against the only team who is currently below them.
The Waratahs have yet to beat a team above them. (2 wins against the Reds)
The way forward for the Force is interesting:
5 teams currently in the top half of the table (including away games against the Brumbies and Rebels).
(Have I ever told you how much I hate losing to the Rebels?)
5 teams currently in the lower half of the table (3 at Home).
Away games against the equally lowly ranked Cheetahs and Sunwolves.
I wonder how we'd rate the season if the Force managed to win 6 or 7 out of the next 10?
I reckon the Sea of Blue needs to get behind the boys for the 5 HOME games - which start with the Crusaders in Round 7.

If we could win all of the "Lower Half" games, plus knock off the Rebels, I don't think I'd call the season a disaster, but that'd still only be 7 wins. It wouldn't put us within coee of Finals IMHO, but with an expanded finals series, nobody really knows how many games will be required.
I suspect we'll be below the benchmark of 7 wins for the year (just looking at the general development, it seems to be two steps forward and two steps back at the moment. The Chiefs game showed glimpses of some great stuff, but there were equally some long passages of play which looked exactly as bad as the Rebels game. I would have hoped to see some structure developing by now.
Losing Jono would have to be the biggest killer in our season. He was startign to drive the team in some very good directions and we need him back.
For everything we have said about depth and competition, the same adage remains. If we lose Hodgo, or Jono, we're pretty buggered really!
C'mon the
On lance - did I miss any confirmation of how long he's going to be out? Is it the season?
I'm always prepared to give some credit where it's due and thought that Peter Grant had a more than passable game against the Chiefs.
His passing and kicking were reasonable, 6 runs for 45m, including 1 CB, 2DB and 1OL, (was better than DH-P and 3rd behind Masirewa and Rasolea) and his 6 tackles was the 4th highest for the team (and by far the best effort by a Back).
In the TWF voting he is currently ranked equal 3rd best - but granted on a very low base.
You are all clutching at straws. The force are not capable at playing attacking rugby. They don't have the mindset to what is required to what they are trying to do and why!!!!!
Lateral attack has been very prominent, so very easy to defend, which then presents turnover ball to opposition then we all know what happens next.,,,!!!!!
And then they play out their skins and surprise few teams a year and they are generally the better teams.
Highlanders are our bunnies, the record speaks for itself

Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
Perhaps we've simply progressed beyond the misery-guts stage and prepared to see some level of upside from a team which has played pretty good 50-60 minutes of rugby against 3 of the top 6 teams (after Round 5) in Super Rugby.
Just imagine how hard it must be for the Waratahs fans who have seen only two wins against the Reds when they have 12+ members of the Wallabies RWC squad in their run-on team.
I reckon that the entire "let's move the Force to Western Sydney" story was just to distract from the sad plight of the Tahs.

I have been a bit depressed about the season so far and all the negativity! I will hope for some wins and will be there for every home game because at the end of the day I love the force and I love rugby in WA. I can't imagine the season so far is making the players feel good about themselves either.. So hopefully a good win soon will help confidence as well!
Had a wager on the force last week. That was their real chance to perform/win especially after the Chiefs amount of travel. But ran out of gas!
So I do not see much in to be positive about against the highlanders who only have had travel back from Melbourne!
Maybe you are right, foley can build confidence by telling his players 'the highlanders are our bunnies'! You will win becoz they know that too, they will be frightened to play much becoz they are afraid of the force!!!
Somehow I don't think so!
This week wager can only be on the highlanders.
Highlanders $1.08
Force $8.50
Force by 13 or more points paying $36
