Wannaroo flew the guy, housed him and got him work, he approached another club and agreed to play after training and taking on the contract... he then calls friday saying thanks but no thanks and appears in a Neddies Jersey....
To be honest the comp can do with out these types, however they will alway look out for their own interests until there is a governing body and mandate to stop it.
I got a different story.
Be that as it may - If a club finds a player, buys flights, finds jobs, accommodation etc without having said player sign a rego form and contract, then the club needs to understand this: Find a player, whilst interstate or overseas, agree to terms, have the player register with club first ( a good way to make sure he's not sitting on a suspension) Then have player sign contract, get copies of both to RugbyWA, confirm with RugbyWA they have the legible documents and only then part with your cash.
I totally agree with you on this one Hansie - if there is a financial incentive involved then they need to handle it as if they are running a business, which in a roundabout way they are! You would be crazy to give money to someone so easily, especially in a situation like this
Frank, you may remember in the last century we had a code of conduct. I was looking at it and so much then is still relevant now, so maybe rename it to collaborative moral code and re-issue it together with the telephone number of each Prez so they can chat.
I don't think your charm offensive is going to work, seven mile
The person is a Rugby WA board member
A person who has community rugbys interest at heart
His comments are flippint and arrogant at best
He has done nothing for community rugby except protect the interests of Neddies
He should show strength in this situation and stand up for the roodogs and send this player packing not quote the pit falls of a club volunteer who didn't follow protocol and let a low life slip through the cracks and be taken by any other club
I stand by my comment
He is a piece of shit
I presume you know all the details of this, then?
Agree with Westie, there should be an investigation, but how can you have and investigation when we have this, an attempt at justification for this sort of conduct, and from a board member who was "voted" in to uphold the values of the game and build community rugby?
Where to now for Rugby in WA??

In my experience most clubs contact each other when a player wants to move clubs, everybody knows somebody and officially or unofficially there is always open communication . Not too sure what happened here but do know that solid rugby guys like Dave McKnight who has been up at Wanneroo cant have been aware of this or he wouldn't have let this happen.
Spare a thought for the Roodogs ,your one import who you have bent over backwards for thinks that he's too good to play with a bunch of young developing players and shoots through.
Slimy maggot arse wipes like this prick should be told to get on your bike ,don't come over here and disrespect the local comp and people like Gibbo who has spent countless hours trying to improve the standard of community rugby.
Pretty sure Neddies will deal with this in the appropriate manner.
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
