cheers Sinbin, shall digest this in the morning!
However...
Having tried to get a password for a gmail account (forgotten password, which is understandable for someone who has somewhere between 10 and 20 email addresses - dont ask!), make sure he records the date, time, ip address, geographic location, mothers maiden name, all of the relevant safety questions and answers, alternate email addresses, etc etc (in proper upper/lower case) for userid and password recovery. Seriously, I've been asked these questions by Google trying to recover a password.

Must have been bitch jumping through hoops, but there's a much an easier and more secure feature on Gmail called two step authentication - something not offered by hotmail hence me recommending it.
Hi BG
Hope that Micosoft thread helps your son.
The reason I suggested he consider gmail once he's recovered his hotmail is that he can still keep using hotmail but use gmail to act as a mail fetcher (for his hotmail). If he's travelling and using net cafe's wifi etc then gmail is much more secure as long as you enable the two step authentication. Each time you go to log in to gmail, google sends you a text with a code you key in. Little bit of an inconvenience but a small price to pay for security.
Anyone that uses Gmail, especially for their business like I do should strongly consider turning this feature on. Here's how to do it. For android users here's an app to generate codes.
despite answering all the questions as per your attached thread,SinBin,STILL no joy!
looks like it cant be recovered,as all the questions have been answered correctly
He's not having a lot of luck is he .. last throw of the dice

Does anyone know how to get rid of the
about:blank 'Blank Page' virus that hijacks your home page?
change your homepage to something else.

Also blow away Internt Explorer and use Google Chrome or Waterfox.. alot better and alot less viruses come thru.
