Reserve Grade Champions - Wests Scarborough
Wests Scarborough has held off a gallant Palmyra in the Reserve Grade grand final today to win 21-17.
Wests Scarborough was dominant in the opening half, crossing for three tries to Palmyra’s one to take a 21-5 lead into the half-time break - Jaden Devorns, James Harvey and Saula Fifita crossed for the Boars and Sean Joyce the try-scorer for Palmyra.
With the premiership on the line, Palmyra came out fighting in the second-half with first a penalty try and then Bradley Kenton muscling his way over the chalk in the corner to trail 21-17.
Palmyra continued to pressure the line but Wests Scarborough’s scrambling defence held them out time after time. With just a minute remaining on the clock Palmyra took possession at the half-way mark and drove towards the line but a fumbled ball into touch signalled the end of the game.
