Former Western Force hooker Tai McIsaac is in talks with the Super Rugby club about returning as forwards coach when assistant Nick Stiles leaves for Queensland Reds next season.
McIsaac, who retired in 2009 and now coaches Japanese club Honda, has been working with Force coaching staff this week.
He has always wanted to return, but was happy to wait until he had more coaching experience before making a bid. He also felt it would be hard to coach players he had played with for four years.
"I'd love to have a role with the Force, I'd love to come back. I'd love to be back here in the future," he told _The West Australian _after retirement.
McIsaac, still popular and well respected at the Force, played in all 52 matches from the club's inception in 2006 until retirement.
Another foundation member, flanker Richard Brown, will play his 89th and final Force game tomorrow night, against the ACT Brumbies at nib Stadium.
Brown, who has signed with Honda, is the third-highest capped player for Force, behind current skipper Matt Hodgson, 96, and former captain Nathan Sharpe, 92.
He played 28 times for the Wallabies. He is confident the club has a strong future.
"The reason I see such a good future is we have got the right coach and the right chief executive. Both guys have a strong enough character to steer the ship," Brown said.
"In the past, we could have had greater consistency in nearly all areas of the organisation. If there was a greater consistency it would have brought greater success.
"Personally, there have been ups and downs, but all in all I'd do it all again. The club gave me a wonderful opportunity.
"When I started if someone had said 'you're going to play for eight years at the club and play 23 games for Australia', I would have been very happy with that."
Brumbies scrum-half Ian Prior, who has signed for the Force next season, will start against his new side tomorrow.
The Brumbies have seven Wallabies in their squad and two who were in camp for the British and Irish Lions campaign.
Brumbies starting side: *Scott Sio, Stephen Moore, Ben Alexander, Scott Fardy, Sam Carter, Peter Kimlin, Colby Faingaa, Ben Mowen, Ian Prior, Matt Toomua, Joe Tomane, Christian Leali'ifano, Tevita Kuridrani, Henry Speight, Jesse Mogg. *Reserves *: Siliva Siliva, Ruan Smith, Fotu Auelua, George Smith, Robbie Coleman, Andrew Smith, Mark Swanepoel.

Tai was seen at training recently and would be a great member of the coaching team. Pity the West's article has a pic of the Tour De France instead of Tai???
