OK, how’s this:
2008 PG Hampshire winner Ryan Tyrell suffered a recurrence of a neck injury during a match against the Waratahs in 2010, resulting in his “retirement” from the .
Since then, Ryan had surgery and subsequently signed and played, apparently extremely well, with the Cardiff Blues in 2011/12, having had a successful 2-week trial.
In July 2012 he signed with the Melbourne Rebels, having returned home to Oz. Evidently he made contact with the franchise but neither party could agree to terms, hence the shamefully desperate approach with the Rebels. (Can’t blame him; there’s a fair few familiar faces over there these days…)
Turns out things weren’t as rosy as RT first thought and they made it quite clear that he was not permitted to commute every weekend to have a bit of a training session and then play with the lads, before then returning home to continue in his new venture as publican of the Bogan Arms. As a result, he has decided that playing Super Rugby has knobs on it and pulling pints for punters in a pub doesn’t.
Sauces have suggested that he’ll be back in purple for the next few seasons, provided the entire club either spends their after-match time at the Bogan Arms, or at the very least use the Bogan Arms as its exclusive supplier of VB and EB for the club bar.
.....apparently
Unusual career path. Scaffolder, pro Rugby player, hotel manager. What's the next installment going to uncover Sir?
Shame the force could not give him a shot he has proved that he has recovered by playing for the blues. Wish you all the best Ryan in what ever you do.
Those who can.........do
Those who can't..........teach (see matt Tink) or in the case of rugby players, pour pints, ogle t1ts and tell yarns about big names they rubbed shoulders with
The Force might give him a position yet?
Controversy corner
Good lord!
Might I point out that only SOME of that stuff was actually true?
Or was it?
You were off the mark with the commute comment, it was Ryan who was against the drive from Safety Bay, not the Rebels
C'mon the
