We have the cattle, we just need to give them decent coaches.
y'know - looking at honey badger's keenness to get in the mix, why don't we use him as a permanent blindside wing? Off set pieces he injects himself off 9 and/or 10, or chases the box kick, hangs back in defence when ball goes wide, or loops behind 13, 14 or 15.
We have a permamnent 6 and 7 these days - In my day flankers stayed on their side of the scrum.
Can we get Sharpie back Please? ...Just a question....![]()
I don't dispute that his best position is 15 - we know that it sure as hell ain't 10.
The crux of my point is that we have a 15 who did well last year and showed promise, and is part of the future of the club. Why bounce him to a position where he'll probably see less ball touches, so we can slot in someone who was only "pretty good" at his peak? Like I said, he should be given a shot to earn it, just like everyone else. But let's think about the future.
Yeah I hear that, but our 12 cupboard is pretty bare and the 13's not much better. If we had a decent centre combination I'd be calling Mafi 15 and Cummins 14, but that simply isn't the case, so there's a need to take some chances.
Like the mafi suggestion, but Stanley's a black hole at the moment. I hope he proves me wrong, but I'd take the devil I don't know at this point in time.
A preseason will sort a lot of this out in the coaches' minds and we'll know about three weeks into the season whether they know what they're doing. until then I would be pushing for big changes in our backline simply because they barely turned up to most games last year.

I think Mafi is going to be better running at 15.
That way he can cash in on Chris Tuatara-Morrison off-loading in the tackle.
My fear is that if we have Chris Tuatara-Morrison at Inside centre. the outside backs are going to be starved for football unless they are up Chris Tuatara-Morrison backside, and timing will be everything.
On a side issue - Chris Tuatara-Morrison - is one man in desperate need of a nickname - lets face it Chris Tuatara-Morrison is a bugger to type.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
