I don't think we can jump to conclusions just yet. Yes, RugbyWA has made some stuff ups and have not always gone about things the right way, but as others have said, there are no sources, no quotes and no evidence the back up anything in the article.
Maybe i'm just an optimist but I think it's best to wait for an actual media release from RugbyWA before making conclusions.
Here's hoping it's all just dodgy press!
"How hard can it be?"
B H I think we are alll hope you are right but we all know that RWA are great at stuff ups.
May the FORCE be with you!
I sent a message to the Force on Twitter today and asked them to put out a media release or something in response to what the likes of Harris, Growden et al have been writing for days now re our new head coach.
This was their reply:
"The process to appoint a coach is ongoing and we hope [emphasis added] to have an announcement in the near future"
Hope? They hope to have an announcement? And what does "in the near future" mean?? Next week, next month, next year, next millenium?
I know they are between a rock and a hard place in terms of confidentiality etc etc, and that they are powerless to stop the rabid eastern states hacks writing whatever rubbish they like about us, but surely to goodness they can give us, the members of this damn club, a crumb of comfort about all this???![]()
Near future? That's as bad as "it's done when it's done".
At least they didn't put "Thanks for your ongoing patience" at the end!
The problem is that their major sponsor (the ARU) has mandated that they say nothing about contracting until the contract has been ratified by the ARU. That basically means, to respond in any way to this sort of hack journalism puts them in breach of this requirement and in danger of the contract not being ratified.
It's lose lose unless you're Tim Horan!
C'mon the![]()

So the article says that they couldn't agree to financial terms. If thats the case, then our board must have offered him the job but for less money than he asked for. That doesn't make sense. It's not as though they were buying a t.v. from Harvey Norman's or something-trying to knock a couple of hundred off the asking price and then refusing to buy when the saleman won't budge, even though it's exactly what you want.It has to be bullshit-surely.
sorry ali. but i saw that tweet and there was no emphasis on the "hope" it was just a typical statement from the PR people, we hope that... we are glad that... we can take positives from... etc.
and as always, the "in the near future" is as soon as possible. because why would they hold that information back from us and the rest of the world, i.e sponsors.
Cant be us, with the local clubs non cooperation treaty with RWA I doubt a deal like that could be struck. Look to poofy blue colours instead.
