10 Ebersohn, 13 cummins or Tupou, 15 mafi or Harvey. It's only a 30 man squad, with the signings we have already we can't afford extras in those areas. With JT being our only signed 9 ATM we ARE in need of a 9 (and a 12, but that's not this discussion) I'm not convinced of the wisdom of getting somebody untried at this level in such a crucial position, but beggars can't be choosers. I hope that means we have a GREAT ball playing 12 as our marquee, somebody with a good team attitude who will make the people around him look good (they're few and far between in Aussie rugby)

Maybe Taps little trip went well?

Nobody but Soaks has officially signed him. I was kind hoping Sheehan might go around again. He's been a bit of a journeyman so he's entitled to a bit of super. Maybe an EPS contract as a bit of insurance for JT?

I'd be all over that Shasta, JT probably deserves a bit of extra patience, not so much for him, but to show all the local boys that the force wants them to play in WA. He hasn't proven to be durable enough yet, and EPS cover will be essential.

Either that or an unwritten agreement that we won't sign any other nine to an eps contract and will use Genia as the short term contract if (when) JT breaks down

I can now confirm that Lil Niggles Genia has not and will not be offered a contract with the Emirates Western Force squad for 2013. In fact EWF had no part in him being in Perth, all Associates work.
The birdies do appreciate the exposure we are recieving in eastern states press at the moment though, must be sweet fa interetsing happening over there and they have the Wallabies and Wales !

We do not have a 9 signed for next year, Sheehan is retiring and JT is undetermined.
We really need a starting 9 to service Ebersohn, possibly with JT backup and a capable EPS in case JT gets injured again. Otherwise a starting 9 with a backup and the EPS spot goes to another position.
I'd still be looking at Swanepoele (sic), plus really trying to lure one of the kids from U20s and sevens like Favaallu (sic). Offering them starting spots is surely better than sitting behind Phipps, Kingi White etc.
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
Swanny wont be able to come back he lost his residency so thats a no hope.

I know we should be looking to the future but the best news would probably be if we could convince Sharpie and Sheehan to go around another year, re-sign pocock, get a great coach and get 2 more quality players eg Taps plus 1 more then things will be looking up.
