Hi All
I Have to agree I thought fifo would bve a great live till the company I work for sent me to Karratha to fill in as depot manager while wefilled the vacancy. I now have a different light on it and it may be good for you think of the people left behind to do all the chores that normally done by you..
Our Situ is diffent as I am away 4 nights a week now but doing 3 weeks away and 1 off was a little tough as WF1962was left to lamb the ewes and feed the sheep and I was lucky as told company they fly me back to Perth to WF games between shifts so also had some overnights in perth...
But as Folk have said think of who you leave behind andwhat you do as regulars chores in your time at home now and are you able to miss your force games next exciting yr as all looks go for the EWF

The biggest problem with FIFO is with the kids.

SAP is used by many resources companies (BHPB, Rio, Woodside, Chevron... etc) as well as other big companies. It is a big application with modules for supply, production, maintenance, finance, HR, etc, etc. If you're in SAP from the IT side, you're either technically or functionally focussed.
There are heaps of jobs in resources, but they're really after the skills. They don't want to train people from scratch. Flexibility is important, as are transferable skills. As jono said, there are also a lot of contracting companies which are after the same thing.
And, FIFO can be hard, particularly if you go onto a construction roster. You get paid for it, but it's harsh.

FIFO is great for my dad ... 2/1 roster ... I don't think my parents marriage would have lasted if it wasn't for FIFO! :p
If I didn't like medical research so much I would definately take up FIFO lab work!
Do you think I'd be able to take my pet rock with me?

yeah and that's a big reason why people do FIFO
