Must have been a nice intro for the new Roo-Dogs coach - welcome to the Wild West. They haven't picked up a young Saffa prop from Soaks have they?.
Blow the game, Zed, are his injuries going to affect his limbs and nervous system?
I hope he will make a full recovery, even if he can't play contact sport.
wish you speedy recovery Kingy - no-one wants to ever see that.
That is awful news...no-one wants to hear about these injuries.
We wish him a speedy recovery and maybe he can consider playing the game in other areas - coach. manager perhaps even a ref.
Cheers for the heads-up Frank...
Andrew King (Kingi to his mates) was badly hurt whilst tacking during the pre season game against Palmyra.
He has hit the ground rather heavily and then rolled over backwards injuring his neck. Kingi walked from the field and although he thought he was okay the Physio staff put a neck brace on him and called the ambulance.
When he arrived at the hospital it was originally thought that he had broken C1 and C2 vertebrae in his neck.
After further scans it appears that he has broken C5 and C6. Whilst this is still a very serious injury his prognosis is a lot better.
Andrew is in the Mount Hospital and will undergo an operation on his neck Yesterday (27/03/2012). He will have a plate inserted over the break and some bone from his thigh will be inserted into his neck to fuse the break.
There will be a short period of rehab and we will hopefully see Andrew back at the club in the next month or so.
The club (Wanneroo) will be doing some fundraising - get in contact with them if you want more info on Kingi or can help.
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Here's for a quick and successful recovery for Andrew King. We're all thinking of you mate!!
