the defence by the rebels tonight is a phenomenal improvement on anything they have shown before!
Yes, but they had NOTHING in attack, I was thinking about that match whilst watching the Reds struggle to beat them, but remember we played the Reds, scored 2 tries to 2 and got killed by a perfect kicking performance, they played the reds, kicked a couple and didn't look a chance of running one in all night. They defended well, but attack, whilst expansive and creative was nothing.
I think the Rebels are a classic backs team this year, the forwards aren't able to keep up with everything zipping left and right, so if they don't get a break in the first three phases they're stuffed.
We're more the classic forwards team. We seem to get plenty of ball and do nothing with it.
When forwards teams play backs teams the result always goes to the team which isn't so up themselves that they play to their strengths and away from their weaknesses.
That's not the team containing the jumped up tosser 21 year old who told his captain and ex welsh legend what to do on the field. Even Phil Kearns asked the question whose the captain?
O'Connor was hardly inspiring today, his first kick charged down, a bunch of relatively ineffective runs because everyone in Australia knows he learned his rugby from giteau (run it yourself, there's no glory in passing) and some dodgy passes over the head and behind the man. We will be in with a shot if Bam develops enough leadership to ensure the ball doesn't get touched by anybody carrying a number higher than 10...... Unless its 16-19
C'mon the
But the Fox commentary team said they had turrned around their season in 1 week....
Maybe we can too.....
Well they DID get completely rogered by the Tahs!
And they WERE looking promising when that was said.
They did lead the Reds for quite a while....we never did
I'm not saying we're completely without hope, but I am saying drastic changes are required for us to win anything. Even the famous waratahs mid-season slump would see us losing the way we played yesterday.
C'mon the
Overheard on web stream "force a sixth grade team" by one of our fox commentators ,from what this weekend has shown Force, brumbies, cheetahs , rebels are rubbish and will finish bottom of table. Rebels played their hearts out but when the reds started to play their big guns looked a little one sided.
Reds bench were of a higher caliber, which was the difference
All the "experts" and bookies have tipped us to be wooden spooners...so any win is going to be above expectations.
we could have TWO wins,Gerry,& still get the wooden spoon!
I think the doomsayers think we might even lose the points for a bye!
They'll come good - and win a few games. Looking at the squad and being honest, that's all I expected this season. We have a fair number of experienced players and a lot of rookies.
But what i want to say here is that this is a supporters site. Or at least that's what I thought it was meant to be. It's turning into a weekly bitch-a-thon and I'm close to being over it.
I might not be happy with the way things are going or have gone in past seasons. But if I want to criticise anything I'll do it in the pub or on the train on the way home. Not in a public forum.
It's been hinted at plenty of times but there's people within the organisation who drop by here from time to time to see what's being said. I realise that this is an open forum and people can post what they like - within reason. I'd just say that if you want to support the players - and I'm sure they're as gutted as anyone here - then don't bag them out so mercilessly in an open forum.
Now, scuse me while put my helmet on and duck for cover.
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
it's the basic errors, not the endevour, that irks me
after all,they are professional players,
having said that,i continue to support them
Us supporters should be able to voice our frustrations here, and support each other in the process. We all have ideas as to how things can be improved, and what isn't working at present. Some opinions are better informed, others not, but we have to be able to express them regardless. Its a forum for Christ's sake.
I think that it might be a GOOD thing that some in the organisation read this stuff, to get the collective pulse of the long suffering but loyal supporters. The Force are a professional organisation.
None of this "only fair weather fans criticise or don't see the positives". I'm over it.
