I suffered through my Roo Dogs -v- Paly. Chucky Stannard's quality was a cut above both back lines and made the difference. Although the Dogs had most of the possession in the first half, Paly punished us each time they attacked with two converted tries. Paly dominated the second half with 2 more tries but there was a consolation try for the Dogs. P6 W1 L4 D1 for the Dogs - gunna be a long season but I'm loyal!
I understand how you feel Sinbin, I've been there more often than I care to remember and know how hard it can sometimes be. The quality of sticking with your club no matter what the season brings is one that I admire and try to live by myself.
But that won't stop me pulling you up.
Stannard certainly made his presence felt on the field, no doubt.
But your KK was also very effective.
The difference was that Palmyra's backing of the ball carrier was streets above Wanneroo's, our defence was very efficient, and our front row was in control from the first scrum to the last, providing heaps of quality possession for our backs.
Pally also blew about four additional tries by silly forward passes and poor ball handling.
Our game plan was to soften and exhaust you in the first half and run the ball wide in the second.
It almost worked well; in the end result it worked well enough
Yes, the 16 - 31 score line did flatter Wanneroo.. I was particularly impressed with your support for the ball carrier and control at the breakdown. To many times Wanneroo ball runners got isolated.
Sorry Fulvs, but I had tipped Roo Dogs to have won that one and was surprised to see the score and hear how Pally dominated. Bloody good to see Wests up there too. Hats off to Gibbo, Monty and Pugsey.
How is it no-one seems to care about the Cott - Soaks encounter??? just a bit of shit stirring....
How come you want to be everybody's friend Hansie? Politics awaits you, you are wasted in rugby.
"How is it no-one seems to care about the Cott - Soaks encounter???"
Answer: Everyone loves the idea that Cott got reamed but doesn't want to give them any more air time than they deserve, which is sweet FA.
Everybody knows...off the field we have mutual great intentions for our game, but while your team is playing my team and you come near me, I'll F&%king buckle your frame and dip your headlights.!!!!
Hansie knows and follows the Lawyers' creed: "strive mightily for your cause, but eat and drink as friends".
Ergo, he's polite to everyone but is mother hen to his club.
Nothing wrong with that.
Nothing wrong with your club knocking the be'Jesus out of his club if they can, either.
I'll make sure our boys show you some extra love when we play Neddies, JB.
Both are high and dry, but you could then play some fixtures "overseas".
"Bloody oath we did!"
