What some if his critics fail to realise or seem to consider is that Alcohol addiction is a tough habit to kick, He has obviously had some compelling reasons to turn to drink so we should not judge, rather try to support him.
I dont condone what he did, i suggest that if he keeps letting himself and his fans down then he deserves any punishment he gets, but I will not judge him or lose faith in him... he is and will always be a Superstar rugby player in my eyes.
Might be worth remembering that he has not hurt anyone other than himself so far. He has taken unnecessary risks which we deem unacceptable, but that is all he has done. Only thing he can do is cop it on the chin and move on, which I hope he does.
Without wanting to rip into Cam, because I genuinely hope this episode is the one that is going to keep him on the straight and narrow from now on, but I think that it's more good luck than good planning that no-one else was hurt as a result of these actions. Compared to the potential risk in going DUI, pinching laptops is pretty small-fry.
Well said Swee, he's been lucky
Because supposedly the law reflects what the majority believes, just suggesting that elevating the level of risk is a rather different thing than choosing to harm someone else deliberately.
I can forgive someone who has been stupid but find it impossible to forgive someone who who has been vindictive.

I can forgive anybody, guess it's kinda built into my faith.
Whatever he's done I believe we need to give the bloke the opportunity to rebuild his life (and do it the right way)
I'm not advocating a nil consequence thing at all, you couldn't confidently give Cam the keys to hold on a night out, but give him the chance to make things right for God's sake!

Yes because the laws have nothing do to with deaths on the road being caused by drunk drivers
Choosing to Drink and Drive is extremely stupid, especially by someone who has been caught in the situation before.
I'm not saying don't forgive him and he will cop it on the chin but getting caught once is a case mistaken judgement. Getting caught a second time is just plain dumb
80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?
Ruck Me, Maul Me, Make Me Scrum!
Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
When you consider what Cam earns and the cost of a taxi, I think it's more scary than dumb. That is a pretty self-destructive thing to do. You wonder what the psychological effect of a long injury spell has on someone. However the offence happened in December so it wouldn't surprise me if they just couldn't get a bloody taxi. The government could make a difference in drink driving by getting more bloody taxi drivers in Perth. But thats a whole new argument.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Gee. Who the hell are all of you people? All saints by the sounds. A fantasy novel once wrote "Let he without sin cast the first stone".
Leave the poor bloke alone. He's been caught and has been given punishment. Time to play some rugby.
Ps: Have lost respect for Cam now he's off the squirt...
coz Stone Cold says so
I didn't mean that to sound like judgement. Just that it seems like he might be a bit depressed.

As opposed to deaths on our roads caused by other stupid behaviour which doesn't involve alcohol. Having lost my mother to someone's stupidity which resulted in them being convicted with two counts of Dangerous driving causing death, I think that I have a relatively high level of appreciation for road safety.
I haven't said anything which is different to you, just worded it differently. Arguing over wording seems somewhat rather riddiculous to me
