WALLABIES star James O'Connor returned to Australia last night after being granted compassionate leave but the wing won't miss Saturday's Test against Italy.
The youngster flew out of London last night and will attend the funeral of a friend before returning to Europe to link back up with the Wallabies.
OConnor, who wore a black armband during Australia's loss to England at the weekend, will be available to play against Italy on Saturday in Florence.
The keen tweeter announced his departure for home on the social website Twitter.
"Hey tweeps. At heathrow airport heading home tonight for a while so gna be scarce for the next few days. Will catch u all soon tho..!"
Wallabies halfback Will Genia, meanwhile, is confident he will be able to play against the Azzuri as well despite suffering a rib injury.
Genia has been cleared of a fracture and says he is keen to make amends for the humbling loss to the English at Twickenham.
The Wallabies flew to Limerick in Ireland yesterday ahead of their midweek clash with powerhouse province Munster early tomorrow morning.
