Chis did fine, a couple of unforced errors, a couple of errors on the back of dodgy service but more than made up for it throughout.

Whats the go with Stephen Jones shoulder pads he looked like Quasimodo. Young Welsh 7 Warburton will be a name that pops up more in future. Shane Williams burned for pace WTF!!?? Not the best game but on a track like that it was suprising to see as many line breaks and the pace of our back 3.

Just read a report of the England - All Blacks game (on an English website) and they said that England monstered the All Black scrum. In 5 English feeds they won 4 penalties, and on All Black feeds also won one penalty and a free kick.

However, the report said Hape is still not good enough - fine tackler, but his passing is awful for a 12, and a good point for Robbie to consider counter-attacking.

Shoulder pads without a Doctors certificate should be banned, or at least have a maximum density.
    IMHO it is dangerous.
Really gets up my nose seeing the flying tackles by the likes of the Boks against non padded players.

Beale made a break at one point in the second half where he tried to step the Welsh defender and slipped. Hopefully learnt that stepping on a boggy pitch is madness. I had a bit of a laugh about that.

Woohoo! Massive first up win...I couldn't believe the weight diff between the packs - crazy stuff. Then I saw our front row all over the park running amok in all but scrum time...Alexander covered a lot of distance to get in contention to score that try - Edmonds busting through for a massive gain when he came on are a couple of examples I can remember off the top of my head.

I guess we just take the scrum problems in exchange for more mobility around the ground?

I doubt the pitches in NZ in 2011 will be that sloppy.

Not to imply that it was the pitch that was to blame but it certainly didn't help.

Even if the pitch WAS at fault, it's still our responsibility to prepare a game plan to cater for it.

We certainly want to play on a dry, fast track. We should have a game plan to cope with the teams which will use a wet track in the way the welsh did.

I guess it's not too hard to argue, that we did have such a game plan, since we won........but a bit more muscle in the scrum would be nice!

As for the pons monitoring the all black scrum, I'm not surprised, they did the same to us in sydney.

Has anyone got a copy of the game on their IQ?

Have a look....early in the game the ball was kicked over the Welsh tryline for some reason. The Welsh back appeared to me to step over the dead ball line but he ran out and booted it up the field and none of the refs noticed.

    ???

That got mentioned by Jonathon Davies, but more in a 'that was close, but he didn't' kind of way. Mind you, Davies is amazingly one-eyed and was berating the Aussie scrum even before the first scrummage. Amazing the number of times the Wales hooker's head was the first to pop up, but yet the ref always gave it as Australia standing up.

At game speed I thought he stepped over the dead ball twice actually

I wouldn't be surprised if he did - I wouldn't trust Davies to tell me the score!
