Gerrard, Huxley, Mortlock, Cipriani, Hilgendorf, Kingi and Cordginly is a pretty decent group of players to build a backline around.
Throw in a couple of young speedsters like the recently signed Cooper Vuna and they are looking quite good.
Overall they are still lacking a bit of muscled in the forward pack, notably the lock position, and the inside centre position in the backline is begging at the moment, unless they want to shift huxley or mortlock there.
sorry have i missed something or is hilgendorf coming back??
oh, how did i miss this? when was it? would have rather he came back here!

If you wanted to go all UnZud about it I reckon Hilgy could make a fair job of the 12. You'd want a power 13 with Cip and Hilgy playing the first five - second five role, but you could do worse!

I know his been out if the game for a while, but Maqueen used to love a big tenacious centre pairing...
Obviously the games changed a bit but he was never a massive fan of the '2nd 5/8' concept
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were chasing someone like staniforth.... Mortlock-Staniforth would be right up his alley as the centres

He was once signed by Melbourne Storm before forging a rugby career with the Brumbies then the Force, and adds further strength to the Rebels' forward pack.

Apparently Kevin O'Neill (Chiefs lock/6) has signed with the Rebels as well. Jeez they are starting to look pretty good.
