The current memberships are set by the standing costs of the organisation (player salaries, staff etc) + ground rents. There is no reason why the standing costs should change significantly, so the only real change is effectively one and a half ground rents. What they've said to date is that Subi was $1.9M, so over 6.5 games it was effectively $290k/match. They've also said that ME Bank halves that, so call it $150k/match. Spread across a working average crowd of 15,000 (say), that is a tenner a match so there is not really any justification for the memberships to go up by more than ~$20 even assuming no additional revenues from the expansion.
bet they do but!!!!!

With 12games in Australia next year, I will have a new permanent address
Ox
C/- Qantas Club
Adelaide Airport
They may well, but if so it would likely have more to do with the operating losses last year, what might happen this year, the amateur clubs needing/wanting more money and support, and even the simple desire to cash in on the seating supply/demand equation at ME Bank. The cynical view might be that we've helped make it popular, now we may have to pay for that.
I hope they dont price the tickets out of reach.... $480 for 6 games is getting up there....... My invest in IQ instead and rock up to the big games for 2011...
but having said all that when it comes to the 2011 membership I prob still join....
WF1964 - Is an out of town membership + Foxtel an option? You get priority purchase to all the tickets, while you don't get a guaranteed seat if you can't make a game due to basketball games or lack of lift (my experience) you haven't wasted your money. You still get all the packages and stuff. I had one during 2008 (first year I qualified for a membership thanks parents) and it served me well. Then you would get Fox too - a win win situation![]()
A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...
