Winter Olympics Medal Tally Ordering

... So I was having a discussion with my father on the weekend and I asked him the question;

"if Australia had the same number of medals as another country, like 2 gold 1 silver no bronze each. How would the order be decided? Say for example the other team was NZ, would we be ranked above them? and then in NZ would they be ranked above us? If thats the case wouldn't that slightly disrupt the rankings? especially those in the top?"

My dad said they would go alphabetically... I know if I was in NZ I'd be all like na'ah we're better than Aust ... but thankfully I am not ...

is he correct?

When are we going to have a Spring and Autumn/Fall Olympics? Surely we need a competition to do with the fastest house&gutter cleaning, lawn raking, which plants sprout the fastest or most volumnous, etc?

I like 94.5's PERTH Winter Olympics, which this year are being held in February apparently. The other day an 8yo Sandgroper won the gold medal for making underarm fart noises. Gripping stuff.

They would rank them equally but list the country who has the most golds first. If all was equal like your example they would list them alpabetically.

If you watched the womens figure skating lastnight you saw Kim Yu-Na have a performance that was probably the best of all time. Congrats Kim!

yeah I watched the ice skating, slightly disapointed I didn't see any decent stacks though However the Aerial jumping had a few decent stacks I'm not horrible ... I just find these things amusing ... so long as they can walk away from it :p
