Hi Force fans,
You'll be pleased to know that SportFM 91.3 is now a full-time radio service specialising in coverage of sports not fully covered by the mainstream stations. We start each day at 6am with Sports Breakfast with Corbin Middlemass and Wayne Clark.
Once again SportFM 91.3 will be broadcasting the majority of Force games, starting with Fridays game against the Brumbies. We'll have full commentary of the game, although there may be an unusual aspect to the coverage that we'll reveal on Friday night if it occurs.
Last season we were the only station to broadcast the historic first wins in Canberra and Sydney and we'll hopefully have many more firsts to bring you as the season goes on.
Have an enjoyable season.
Ripper! Well done SportFM!!!
Welcome back, David - Good to hear you'll be doing the majority of Force games - with a fulltime broadcast now, has there been any room made for a dedicated Rugby show?
We've been in discussions with Rugby WA about various projects we think would expand the coverage of the sport in WA.
We've talked about a local rugby show from within the Force ranks similar to "Talking Warriors". This would guarantee access to all the top players. We'd hope that 6PR's sponsorship of the Force wouldn't prevent such a show from happening.
We have also made a proposal to cover state games if we can find a way of scheduling them to everyones satisfaction.
There is also room for a fans show - providing the content is deemed suitable.
The station already broadcasts Total Rugby.
Hi Gigs,
If TWF want to create a show that is structured and promotes the sport we'd be thrilled to put it on the station.
If we can harness the passion of supporters it is infectious and something we'd love to have.
Let me know your ideas.
I think he was tongue in cheek at your proviso David.
Sounds great, probably something Coach needs to give some thought to, but in principle I reackon we should look at it for sure.![]()
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
:-) with the hassles in getting up match coverage this week (Leon Ruri is out of action with some minor surgery too) I think I may have lost my sense of humour for a while - I'll try and get it back soon - Coach, give me a call anytime you want to discuss the options.
If people are serious, I think we'd start with a podcast or two to see how we, who is/can commit and if indeed we would make any sense and then take it from there.
Many thanks for the consideration, David - we may be able to get something going.
