scatch too deep?
C'mon the
i'm really wondering why people would call this thread trolling? not that i agree with the post.. but some of the points are worth some thought. melbourne has a load more cash than we do. but it also has more draw downs on it.
cheers auss...

Not so much the content Anti....its the troller...
The bait and lure may change, but the person at the end of the fishing gear is the same.
pity im not a troll, but i guess attacking someone is easier than reading a post and commenting on it with thought!
i stand by what i said.
melbourne is only an hour from syd, 2 hours flight from brisbane, before this season alot of players looked at signing with other clubs, JOC asked queensland to open talks and this is the kid were throwing giteau money at to keep. If queensland didnt bungle it thorugh mismanagement he wouldnt be at perth.
alot of the players in perth have family etc on the eastern seaboard, its just how it is and living closer to home and having cheaper flights to see relative etc during the week or fly people to your games makes it more attractive in my opinion if its a choice between two clubs.
i hope it doesn mean that the force become the bottom club in australia, we have a solid squad for next year and i hope pretorius fires, if not we will be a very boring forward oriented team to watch. Ive seen sam harris play and he isnt really a ten with alot of points in him, more just solid. we need creativity to score tries, defences just get better and better every year.
so if im a troll, i just want to say thankyou for those who actually took the time to read what i wrote, i guess being the 'force behind the force' as you bill yourselves must mean others arnt welcome to express themselves if there opinion differs from what the inner sanctum thinks, so dont worry, i will find a different forum to post on and leave you guys to it!
But how is it located with regard to SA and NZ, we're right in the middle. Some players have families from overseas, especially now we have internationals playing outside own countries.
Mismanagement from Queensland didn't land J O'C at The , it was good management here in WA.

good management after the reds stuffed up signing him, his manager and o'connor have been quoted saying they wanted to open talks with queensland and queensland kept putting them off, im not attacking the force who obviously did a good job in keeping a spot open and being flexible with him. but the fact is, he took a look esomewhere else before signing. with an extra option there will be more looking and it begs the question of if the force are going to suffer, burying your head and backing your team 100% based on crap doesnt make it true, the club works hard to keep people here but im worried its going to cost more and more in the way of third party payments to keep people further away from there homes now they have more options. were relocating players, south africa and nz have nothing to do with it, perth is out of step with the country there players ocme from (for the most part) the time difference between melbourne and brisbane is only an hour and olny part of the year. being two hours behind and five hours away is different no matter how you look at it, i know it affects me and my family who are still in perth, if they lived in sydney and me in melbourne i would fly back every other weekend for 150 bucks to be with them, cant do that to perth, it matters!
You maker it sound as if Queensland were the only team that had the right to sign him and when they slipped up he was left with no other option than the Force. I'm sure like any professional he would have or been advised to explore all options (be it 1,2 or 10) and again like any professional he took the offer that suited him the best. If that decision is based on $$$$, location, colour of jumper or where your mum lives, it is a business decision. I would also hazzard to say that I'm sure no players families have any difficulty in getting here to see them play because of the amount of travel time or $$$.

Well there is a news flash
who would have thought it????
That will teach them for being born on the East Coast I guess. What were they thinking.
Perhaps you can explain to us why a number of players have bought homes in Perth, why former players like Stanniforth have indicated that once they have completed their contract in Japan they intend on returning to Perth, or Gitteau who has retained his house in Perth while he soaks up the porn and fireworks of our nations capital.
for some one who proclaims he is not a troll thou does protest to much

Fortunately our location means that generally the players who come to WA aren't mummies boys who need constant hugs. Those who do, return to Canberra or Brisbane...
The reality is that players will always come and go, there are only going to be 75 starting positions to be filled in Australian Provincial Rugby and many young men actually thrive on the adventure of heading away from their comfort zone for extended periods, otherwise there would be no backpacker industry!
From 2011 Australia will be offering starting positions as below and they will eb filled by varying degrees of talent and will develop at varying rates according to their ability and coaching.
Starting Positions Post 2010:
(Forwards x 40)
Props x 10
Hookers x 5
Locks x 10
Backrow x 15
(Backs x 35)
Scrumhalves x 5
Flyhalves x 5
Centres x 10
Wings x 10
Fullbacks x 5
Total = 75

im not protesting, im pointing out an opinion of which you have qouted random things and attacked me over probably due to the fact that you dont understand it or just havnt botherd to read it properly. the O'connors, Pococks etc of this world that came to perth for iopportunity, its the future group of these guys im worried about, going to melbourne could be more attractive to them. the force need to be able to attract people to play at the force, like alot of players want to play at the brumbies because of there culture and ability to progress players through there program (dont post giteau crap, he was a brumbie before we stole him!) i'd say giteau still owns a house there cos he is getting married to a girl from perth, you could argue that his million dollar unit in canberra means the same thing, he never sold that when he went to perth!
propertie doesnt mean anything, im returning to perth in the new year, cos its my home, doesnt mean i wont return to melbourne to visit, its a worry that young players now have the same opportunity that the force offer closer to there families and friends and in my opinion the force need to forge an identity for themselves
Have you indeed looked to see how well our academy is progressing now they have a home Super 14 team to play for if they make the grade? I can assure you that from juniors through to club grades rugby in WA has seen a dramatic increase in participation and results.
Gits doesn't own an apartment in Canberra it was/is being "supplied" by the Brumbies or perhaps a third party sponsor to lure him back home.
