I was well impressed by the crowd even during the 2nds. 'twas a very impressive sight by the time the 1sts got under way - and two very entertaining games to be seen as well, with both games decided by a kick for goal right on full time. Both successful, both by Cott.
Back to the crowd - all of the tiers on the clubhouse side were chockers, and the stands on the other side were pretty full for those hardy folk braving the chill factor. I am also crap at estimating, but I'd be amazed if there were not at least 1,000.
It's the best crowd I've seen at a local rugby fixture outside a Grand Final Day.
Well done to all concerned with that fixturing!
(Oh, and FS: do you have a problem with your car radiator? Or do you just like to "make an entrance"?)
Yes i will catch a game at Joondalup sometime through the season
How'd crowds go for the other 3 games last Friday?
I had a phone call from a RugbyWA official today, surveying how we thought the Friday night fixture went. Of course I said it was fantastic.
I was told this was the general consensus, though of course there were minor issues here and there to address.
I think the message has got through, and there will be more of these fixtures coming up, next year if not this.
Might be floating around Pally tomorrow, a mate Coaches a Wests team.

Wanna game in fourth grade Burgs? I have a vacancy at fullback ...
And our physio wants some practice at resuscitation ...
The bottom 5'7" says "You bet, any time, any position".
Sadly the top 6" has a better grip(e) on reality...
