I have been wodering about an idea I've had for the site, but it will take a bit of goodwill and support from others to pull it off.
Basically it is that we have a thread where we suggest some questions we would like the Force to answer (perhaps by the coach), select say 5 questions from the suggestions by online vote each week/fortnight/agreed time period, send them in to the EWF and they could reply in a relatively personal manner on the site.
I know it will take alot of organising and relies on the Force to agree to our request (if it gets that far) but it also means that they are not reliant on the media to conect with a dedicated group of fans. And it could be alot of fun for us.
maybe once a month or else it becomes too much

1) Is there any truth to the rumour......

I like it in principle Cowboy.
We would need to remain fairly sensitive in the material otherwise it obviously wouldn't continue.
I'm not sure if that would leave enough ground to cover though, bit of a catch 22...

I think there'd be a fair few issues that they wouldn't be keen to talk about but they could surely supply us with a little info on stuff that isn't too controversial. Like who they are trying to bring in for the marquee players etc or other recruitment related issues.
I noticed in the Cut-Out Pass that Tajhon Mailata is back in Perth. I wouldn't mind knowing if the Force would consider him for their academy. Pretty sure he was capped in 2006 and has played a fair bit of rep rugby (including winning the Bronze Boot with School Boys) he must have some potential surely.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Force #26 Tajhon Mailata, Debut Feb 24 2006 v Chiefs Caps: 1
He has the dubious honour of being the only single capped Force player!
Noticed that one too James, has to be more than a coincidence that he would be back here, likewise Jon McGrath.

As an idea it would rely on us being sensible about what we ask, but hopefully the days of constant rumor are also behind us. The vote on what we ask was to make sure we keep ourselves on track.
I do find it frustrating how RWA do tend to let stuff just hang in the media for even weeks before making a public comment.
Personally I think this is a major issue they need to address, damage control or getting the true story out is vital when dealing with these vultures.

Taj Mailata has been kicking around in local club rugby all last season ...
i think taj's priorities have changed since being dropped from the force, pretty sure he has a young kid to look after these days but i may be mistaken... still has plenty of potential, good player but not outstanding anymore
#1 q from robyn: "Drew, Will you marry me?"

I'm thinking we should do the right thing and advise Robyn to start slowly, you know just try and let Drew get to know her first, before popping the big question. So maybe #1 should be Drew who's your favourite S14 player?, your mine.
#2 Drew will you marry me?
Should work much better.
Maybe even a little, slower.... start as described above.
#2: Can I touch your hair?
#3: Will you marry me?

#1 Hi, I think you're a really good player
#2 can I have your shorts?

I think for this to work - we have to avoid the "controversy" questions.
The Media team at RugbyWA have a method to their control of the issues.
If they are to agree to our answering questions once a month, they are not going to want to oversee the Quality of the answers as well as the questions.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
