ive been thinking about it for a while swee.
gave me something to do while cutting chickens and whilst driving.
if SANZAR had've known how this saga was going to unfold. they could actually have not given us the team. because we didnt fufill a promise that was made to get the team in the first place.
-incidentially i would LOVE to get my hands on the letters that were sent to SANZAR from the govt that actually got us the force - can that be done?
and also this talk of 'renting' australia's 5th franchise does little to quiet my fear that w.a could actually LOOSE the force. seeing as the state govt hasnt followed through on its part of the deal. i.e a dedicated rectangular stadium!
i think that SANZAR could present a pretty strong case for it as well if they really wanted to.
We've previously discussed the remodelling the large part of Subi that doesn't clash the new ground into a rugby venue, and the various advantages it would offer - should we add acting as an in-venue warm-up ground for major athletics events to the list?
I know I'm a teacher and thanks for your support TQ1, but don't forget the Ambos, Fireys and Coppers, they pull harder yards than I and are served the same crap at pay-rise time.
also, this article isn't news, we were talking about this a in 2006 and b when carpenter announced his intention to fail in a bid to host the Commonwealth games.
Anybody who want's to know what to do.....ring all the candidates in your electorate, ask what their party's (or if independent their own) policy is on the provision of a dedicated rectangular stadium. Post the answer on WNC in the WA General Election forum and we can then ensure that every sitting member in the state supports the building of a dedicated rectangular stadium, whatever party they are with.
also, once you have the information from the candidates, write a letter to your local community newspaper discussing the various views you have been given by the candidates and how any who think that Albino Pachyderm Park is a good idea are totally clueless!

I don't think you'd fit a 400m warm up track in there Andy, the reconstruction of Subi was only ever considered here as a rectangle, I did a quick sketch where the ground wars turned 90 degrees and the eastern stand torn down to be rplaced by a stnd right next to the pitch. It looked feasible on paper, but even with the guesswork I was doing it looks like there'd be a fag paper between them.

IF the document is tabled in Parliament then its available via WA Government website under Hansard.
If its from a specific Minister you can actually apply for it under the Freedom of Information act.
Or
You could try asking RugbyWA for its copy of it. This would be unlikely I would imagine as these types of documents very rarely see light of day.
FOI would be the way to go, but its a very time consuming affair. It would be unlikely that it would be made available in time for use prior to the election. But I am sure Fulvio or Jehna could tell us more about FOI.

It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa

So, where's our stadium then?? Its now 2 years beyond the 'extensions are due to be completed by' date and we have seen nada. As Carpeneter took over from Gallop, I see that it is his job to come up with the goods in keeping with what his party agreed to.Originally Posted by Legislative Assembly meeting from Wednesday 4th of May, 2005. I posted it on WNC dont know if everyone will be able to see it though and I can email you the pdf if you want.
We're all having dramas uploading stuff to WNC- can you throw on a link and a page reference??
I uploaded some of it to WNC, its hard work typing [ QUOTE ] everytime I need to quote!!
There is more in the original post as well, documents from 4 Legislative Assemblies in 2005 contained some pretty handy info. The last 2 were relating to Perry Lakes but contained some goog info and background (for want of a better word) on the politicians and their aspirations/hopes for rugby in WA. Considering it has now been almost 3 years since they made these statements, I would be interested to see how they feel about what has/hasn't been done in the time that has past.
There are 290 Hansard documents on rugby, which go as far back as 1997 and include the most recent document on estimates of revenue and expenditure, by our favourite Barry House. I will trawl throught them for more stuff.
Didn't take long to come up with a pearler!!
