Lote Tuqiri says he wants a crack at both codes
Wayne Smith and Brent Read | July 17, 2008
WALLABIES winger Lote Tuqiri wants to be able to play rugby union and league in the same year and doesn't see why the idea proposed by St George Illawarra chief executive Peter Doust has come in for such criticism.
Doust's radical plan to allow Australian rugby league stars to play rugby in France during the summer and then NRL during the winter was widely dismissed as a desperate ploy to soften the blow of Mark Gasnier's decision to quit the NRL and sign a two-year deal worth up to $1million a season with Stade Francais.
Doust argued the NRL and French seasons did not significantly overlap and any player who figured in both would have no need to put in a pre-season.
It's a debatable point given that most players go into maintenance mode once the season is underway, using the pre-season for heavy conditioning work.
But far from ridiculing Doust's idea, dual international Tuqiri believes...

Seriously, does Tuqiri have nothing better to do than give interviews- maybe he should give training a go sometime!
Laugh and the world laughs with you.......

Why does Lote do so many media interviews? It's not like has anything interesting to say. Maybe there's a clause in his contract about media interviews (must replace the clause about having to score tries!!!).

THAT IS THE BEST EPISODE!!!!!sung like South Parks Morman episode's Joseph Smith song)
BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
I don't know about old Lote, still can't work out what all the fuss is about him. Didn't the Wallabies learn in the world cup that concentrating on fast ex league backs doesn't make much difference if your forward pack is getting hammered. Remember
"Forwards win the game and the backs decide by how much".
Forwards are the game, backs are just there as pretty boys
Lote should just bugger off back to mungo rugby & leave us all in peace!!!
