Sharpe admits his place is on the line
WALLABIES second-rower Nathan Sharpe has admitted he's no certainty for selection for Saturday's Tri Nations Test against South Africa despite declaring himself injury-free and raring to go.
Sharpe trained strongly yesterday in Perth and said he felt no ill effects from the groin injury that kept him out of Australia's 40-10 win over France in Brisbane last Saturday week. But...

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

this would be a little wrong now seeing that Horwill is now injured, unless it isn't a serious injury and will be fit for saturday's test
Be There. Be Heard. Be The Force Behind The Force
it would be disappointing to see sharpie miss out on a starting spot as competition is building for his spot. sharpie will rise to the occasion as he always does. he is the reigning john eales medalist after all ....
good one sharpie...you're as likely to be overlooked as a buffet being overlooked by any front row...
coz Stone Cold says so
What a crock of shite. Sharpie is a world class lock. He is a walk up start. Sounds like Moses wrote this article. For some strange reason the crew on the eastern seaboard dont rate him? Lets get our attention to the only weak link in the team...the front row.

Thats the essence of the eastern states argument TLH.
They cant find themselves to blame the frontrow of trestle etc for the scrum problems so they pick on Sharpe to say hes not pushing.
And the argument that he's always in the back line, take a look at the first ball Horwill got in the French test when Sharpe was out..yup...you got it..as first receiver.
And the drills they showed on TV last night, what were they doing...sending it to Sharpe as first receiver next to the ruck.
I am dissapointed that Horwill is injured. It will be another week where the tothersides can say that Sharpe doesnt deserve his spot and one week more before he can prove them wrong.
On the money Gerry.

WESTERN Force captain Nathan Sharpe returns to the Wallabies' second row to face South Africa at Subiaco Oval on Saturday night.
Sharpe has recovered from a groin injury suffered at training in the leadup to the second French Test and joins winger Lote Tuqiri and No 8 Wycliff Palu, who were injured in that game.
Wallabies coach Robbie Deans watched Palu play 50 minutes for the Manly Marlins in the New South Wales club championship at the weekend. While Tuqiri and Sharpe did not play club rugby, all have been declared fit to start the Wallabies Tri-Nations opener.
