FOLLOWING DAN: All Blacks first five-eighth Dan Carter during training. Carter is expected to play a pivotal role in tomorrow night's test match against South Africa.
The All Blacks will be getting out their thermal clothing after admitting they misread the severity of the conditions for the Ireland test in Wellington.
That was a night for polar bears, with rain and freezing temperatures, and more of the same is predicted for tomorrow night's Tri-Nations test against South Africa at Westpac Stadium.

I love it TQ1..let the games begin..![]()
I agree with the Black's, just spent 3 wks in NZ seeing the whanou and it was *@%+ing freezing. Snowed to sea level one night in Taranaki and have photo's to prove it.
Go the BLACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BLACK IS THICKER THAN BLOOD
Welcome back Seldom, my fellow rugger in black. Abit of african bushtucker tomorrow (I hear springbok biltong is highly recommended this time of year) then onto a wallaby roast next weekend. I love Christmas in July.
South Africa with 3 or 4
So, that's a story about how the All Blacks don't want to suffer in their jocks this weekend???
I played for 20 years in Wellington & never wore thermals
soft buggers
They are getting soft mate. Where I was born(Johannesburg) we used to play rugby bare foot on white frost covered grass pitches at 0'C temperatures (As kids)
Seldom, please bro, it's whanau. I played 2 seasons with Waitara (Clifton).
Gunfighter, I also played 1 season with Eastbourne (was young) and 1 season with the mighty Petone club (the home of many many fine internationals). Still remember Hewson (AB fullback) playing with gloves and pantyhose (f..kn backs, they just don't get it!).
PB, I think your boys will do it on NZ soil for the first time for 10 years.
Forecast is not too bad (by our standards).
Picks for tomorrow, West Melton, South Africa, Australia.

You're all soft (especially the Kiwis!). In Scotland, we'd play all winter...just as long as the ground could take (metal) boot-stud. After the first few minutes you couldn't feel your legs!!!

BDGF, I really enjoyed tonight in that chat room thingee. I'm still sitting here thinking of friends from for ever ago.
I think one of the girls got a snap of the snow two weeks ago when we sat the Army team on it's arse. I'll see if I can get it on this site.
You really have no idea or memory of how shit a winter here can be. I have always said if it wasn't for footy I would live anywhere else.
Hot jocks is the answer. FFS.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
