Emirates Western Force lock Pat O’Connor has inked a new one-year deal with the club that will see him remain in WA through the 2009 season.
Nice to see. Competition for the lock spots.
Today's West reports that Pat O'Conor has been signed on again for season 2009. He is rapt according to the article. He reckons that 2009 will be payback time to say thank you to John Mitchell and everyone for sticking with him. He has missed season 2008 and 2007 as a result of 2 knee reconstructions - he's only 24.
In particular he is looking forward to the forthcoming English Tour -
May his Lock change![]()

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

Be There. Be Heard. Be The Force Behind The Force
his last competitive match was November 2006. Poor bloke hope he has more luck this upcoming season!
Be There. Be Heard. Be The Force Behind The Force
I feel really sorry for those guys who've come over to the Force and missed a lot of games through injury. Players like Pat or Lachie Mackay both said that they feel really bad/guilty about such a lengthy injury problem and like they've let down the team down. Watching the Force Feed Pat seems like a great guy and I hope he comes through it and really pushes the other guys for field time in 2009 and stays on with the Force for at least a few more years.
Its been a slow few weeks on the Force news front... does anyone know what the go with James O'Connor, Pek Cowan or Gareth Hardy is?
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
woooohooo go pat!!!
BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
How come Pat isn't in the updated player profiles on the Force website?
There are a number of locks in the team now, Sharpe, Hockings, Pusey, Stanford, Wykes, O'Conner.
I am guessing the Horua is the back-up number 8 to Browny.
At a guess - they are waiting for the 2 week trials to finish before they know their final list for 2009.
As Pat signed a while ago along with some others you would think that they would update it as they go![]()

Great stuff Pat. You know you are always welcome at Rocky anytime.
Any word here re the profiles.
I was just checking before putting up the same.
The profiles have come up with a 33 man squad (including 3 Senior Academy) but no Pat?
"Bloody oath we did!"
