    O'Neill to complain to IRB

Australian Rugby Union chief John O'Neill is planning to send a formal complaint to the International Rugby Board referee's chief, Paddy O'Brien, over the performance of Irish referee Alan Lewis during the Hong Kong Bledisloe Cup Test.

Lewis has been widely criticised for his refereeing, including missing a forward pass that resulted in the All Blacks' winning try and continuously penalising the Wallabies at the scrum and breakdown. O'Neill, who is with the Wallabies to Italy, was one of thousands of Australians in Hong Kong dismayed by Lewis's performance.

Surely the IRB would conduct their own review of every test match ref's performance thus negating the need for JO'N from appearing like a petulant schoolboy (or does he get off on media mentions?!?!).

I usually don't like to bitch about the refs but i waited up till 11pm (thanks channel 7) to watch the match and was really amped (even though i am only drinking water) and i admit the first half was good to watch but i believe the penalty count about halftime was 9-1 , and i didn't feel the kiwis were that perfect or that we were that guilty of most of the infringments (especially the scrum). The referee truly ruined this match as a spectacle, unless his goal was to make him the spectacle...I don't begrudge the kiwis the win as you play the whistle, but it would've been nice to have a more level adjudication of the match...

    Thanks TG

I see that they are going to give the bastard another run when we play Wales. Should be very interesting.

Which might have something to do with JO'N's attitude.
