The RugbyWA board has recently announced as part of the future planning for the Western Force a restructure of the professional rugby department. As part of this restructure my position of General Manager Rugby has become redundant and I have accepted a redundancy package effective from the 31st August 2012. This means my departure from RugbyWA after 7 ˝ years , which is sad but I totally accept that the organisation needs to move forward under a new head coach and in order to achieve results the organisation needs to make decisions to try and achieve on field success . This also opens up other opportunities for myself to progress my career and experience in other parts of the industry.
I wish to thank all the staff I have had the pleasure of working with over many years at not only RugbyWA but the ARU , other unions , suppliers , partners and friends of RugbyWA in the broader community. I have been very proud of many of the achievements of the organisation, although still lacking on field success with the Western Force the level of engagement and growth at Corporate and Community levels has been excellent . If only the players can excel like some staff and volunteers do then the organisation will be in a good place! We have a passionate supporter and corporate base who have been very loyal and patient and I feel in particular at grass roots and match day we deliver an excellent rugby product and experience.
Without being too sentimental and in order to keep this relevantly brief I will catch up with as many people over the coming month as I can to express my gratitude for the support you have given me in my various roles since 2005.
Regards
Mitch
