Some results from our tour to Queensland
Game one: was played against Sunnybanks GPS( gold player squad) of which more than half the players were U16
Sunnybanks won 55-3
This was a good wakeup call for the boys. Fortunately the game was recorded and thecoaches were able to make some adjustments with the help of Dwayne Nestor who helped analising the video overnight.
Game 2: was played against the Goldcoast GPS. Again there were a few U16 boys playing in this team. WA did well and led at halftime 8-7 It was a hard seconds half with WA leading 18-14 at fulltime Goldcoast got the ball in their own 22meter and with some good passing managed to get the ball out to their winger he ran the full length of the field to score under the posts
Goldcoast winning 21-18
Game 3: was played against the Sunshine coast GPS this team mainly consisting of U15 players.
WA was ready for a win and dominated from the start halftime score was 19-0 and
final score WA won 34-0
Game 4: was played back in Brisbane against the Ballymore GPS this team coasts of players (u15&u16) from Nudgee and the likes. Ballymore led 14-0 after a shortened first half, after the flyhalf of the WA side was taken to hospital for checks of his spine and neck. He also received 4 staples to close up a nasty hole to the back of his head ( he was cleared of any setrious injury and was on the plane home with the rest of the boys)
Second half was played with much more passion by WA scoring the only try of the half and keeping Ballymore scoreless
Ballymore winning 14-5
Overall the tour was a successful step in preparation of the U16 national champs which these boys will compete in in 2014
