As many of you may already know, as part of "Dry July", TWF stalwart Travelling Gerry is undertaking a challenge that would strike fear into the hearts many - no alcohol for the month of July, yes - an entire month! And July is one of those months that has 31 days?!!
Dry July’s mission is to directly benefit adult cancer patients with real and tangible change. They intend on achieving this by providing organisations with funds to create better environments and support networks for patients and their families.
Dry July also aims to make people aware of their own drinking habits and the value of a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Personally, I am well aware of my drinking habits and the value these habits add to my life
Whilst one of Dry July's visions is to have drinking during the month of July become a bit of a no-no, I can see it growing into a month where certain individuals can be singled out to have their sobriety ridculed whilst also be rewarded handsomely for not telling us mere mortals what we really get up to when on the sauce.
Here's to a successful month, Gerry - may your sacrifice be handsomely rewarded
