WE died in the Millennium Stadium. Then we went to heaven.

We thought it was over -- that last-gasp penalty.

Those of us in the crowd who are naturally pessimistic thought it was over. That would be the ones clad largely in green, then, those who could barely whimper in support for much of the game because it is difficult to loosen the tongue when your heart is in your mouth.

We risked a peek. We enjoyed what we saw. Oh yes. We enjoyed those few seconds as our curly-headed fullback ran along the in-goal area with the ball in his hands, toying with us briefly before touching down. Ole!

Oh we enjoyed that tremendously. It was thrilling, quite the climax to a few moments that will last a lifetime or two.

Some cried, and why not? Rugby doesn't get much better than this. Perhaps sport doesn't.
