Scott Fardy joins the Western Force
Powerful blindside flanker Scott Fardy has joined the Emirates Western Force on a one year contract.
The 23 year old was a member of the Waratahs Academy in 2006 and 2007, and toured the United Kingdom and Ireland in 2006 with the Waratahs Development squad.
At 110kg and 198cm, Fardy can also play lock and has been turning out for Warringah first grade in the Sydney competition since 2004.
Fardy said he was thrilled at the opportunity to join the Emirates Western Force, and would be doing his best to make an impact.
He said he was impressed with the rugby program at the Force and was keen to take his game further under head coach, John Mitchell.
Mitchell said Fardy possessed very good ball handling and line-out skills, and was aggressive in the tackle.
“We are excited about the opportunity to develop his game and, in particular, the physicality he brings,” he said.
“He’ll also bring competition and influence amongst our backrow stocks.”
Fardy has also been selected in the Perth Spirit squad for the Mazda Australian Rugby Championship, which kicks-off next month.
