Very considered response Gigs, like it !
Thanks Kev, that was such a refreshing review to read - was one of the most informative pieces written on here for a long time.
WM, as a ref and fellow rugby tragic, I wanted to thank you for all your involvement in local rugby...regardless of the result, you've always come across as somebody who is more interested in the...
Palitu, haven't been on here much lately (I'm still somewhat surprised at lack of commentary on Perth comp compared to past seasons), but was glad to see this thread, where unlike the Perth comp...
Nice :)
Hansie, re consistency between FK and PK advantage - what is it you believe should happen or is happening e.g. please ?
I don't believe the law differentiates between PK and FK - only...
I think that's a fantastic acheivement given the 'old refs' I had to put up with when I played...a sign of the times. If you're good enough, you're old enough...
I'm sure RR won't mind me saying I've reffed a larger number of higher grade games than him here in Perth, but that's not to say he hasn't elsewhere.
I'm more concerned with the longer term...
Seeing as the reasonable question was asked 'how would refs like it', I will provide my opinion in the same context.
As a WA ref, I would be happy for exchanges / visiting refs to come in thru a...
Happy to provide my opinion, need to work so will respond.

Thoroughly decent old chap !!!! Very very knowledgable, understands the game and the laws exceptionally well. No ego, limitless enthusiasm - great attributes for a ref.
I've said enough.

But then again, they are Eastern states...so forget I said that
You're a gas' man ! As long as our expert touchline commentators can promise to stay here, the educated Eastern states crowds would be a pleasant change :sarcastic:
Big call Hansie !!!! I'm very pleased to see an Aussie and Kiwi team go at it - good for comp especially as they've probably been the most consistent (regardless of standings on ladder)

Fulvio, I normally appreciate your rants (on TWF if not at games and in person) but don't join the masses and threaten. Either ---- or get off the pot. If somebody did it, name them, don't threaten....
Yes, Rugby WA run the courses that ARU require for refs to participate, similarly for coaches. In saying this, there is often some input to these courses from local 'established refs'.
We are...
Apologies for my suspicions :) WA Refs is a volunteer organization that covers junior and senior rugby, it comprises an Executive including ex and current refs and various sub-committees including a...
Nice :) that's why I added 'employee' as we are all volunteers :)

No but interested to know why ? Some tongue in cheek remark regarding the mention of Kala boys misbehaving ?

You hear the furore around Rugby WA and where Force players end up playing club rugby. Can you imagine the can of worms that twf'ers and clubs may want to open if Rugby WA were also responsible for...
Bunter, do you know which offence the respective sanctions were for e.g. I read on TWF that there was a punch, but there was also a kick ? Do you know what these got ?
Good point NTT. For fear of sounding like an old fart and sometimes the boys laughing at / with me, I try to get them to stop any of that crap if I hear it. I think it will always help (it can't...
There is no doubt that a ref can indirectly and directly influence the tempers within the game, for good or bad. It is rather too simplistic to simply and always say 'but it's the player that chooses...
Like the style Westies :)
