Am I the only guy who doesn't care about the name and IP?
In accounting terms the IP is worth $0 as that was the figure it was written down to in the ARU’s 2017 audited accounts.
In April, Clyne said he was confident that the 2017 loss was a “one off”. Let’s see what he says next April.

So with no Super franchise on the horizon, why on earth would RugbyWA need that IP back ?
What benefit does it give us or s it just a few patents that don't mean anything now ...
If & when GRR takes off and we're still the Western Force with logo's that are extremely lose to the old ones what's gonna happen?
Or @Alison am i missing something?
We had a Pilbara team come down to Perth to play Goldfields (Mungo's) a loooong time ago.
Team song
..da da....Dada Dada Dada da da.....Dada Dada Da da daaa..........da da....Dada Dada Dada da da.....Dada Dada Dada daaa.... THE PILBARA!!!
Think Tijuana Brass "Tequila"....maybe you had to be there. Had em all guessing first time thru though.
I think of the WF IP issue as more than just us getting our logo back. If the Rats Arse is being truly honest about reconciling and also considers GRR a part of the Australian Rugby landscape they would
1. Return the Force IP back to RugbyWA for a $1. To me, the $1 price tag is important and very symbolic.
2. In line with all the other professional rugby franchises in Australia, make the Force a voting member of the RA. This would not require any changes to its constitution.
What you speak of my friend seems logical, easy to achieve and well just plain common sense. What you need to understand is that has no bearing on the circumstances at play. You may as well be on mount logic yelling at people on mount Rugby AU where none of those traits exists. They just don’t speak your language and plus your tie is the wrong colour etc.
It's not that important. Its the principle of the thing.
RugbyAustralia took the IP under false pretenses. It belongs to RugbyWA and the Western Australian Rugby community.
At the moment the Western Force name belongs to RugbyAustralia - and if Minderoo or RugbyWA don't already - pretty soon they will have to be paying RugbyAustralia for the right to use the Western Force name.
Now I am certain that the majority of the Sea of Blue has a very serious problem with giving money to RugbyAustralia. As long as they own the Western Force IP. Minderoo or RugbyWA are going to have to pay for the privilge.
It would stop the RA making money out of the Force and hand ownership back.
