What the hell is wrong with our line out and kicking!!!
Who forgot to pay the power bill?
We lost that the Rabble didn’t beat us!
If the game was called at 73mins, I would have been p155ed off but understanding of the situation.
The fact the game went for 80mins and couldn’t close it out :banghead::getmad:
Actually I thought the Force played really well, just masters of their own demise! They do some brilliant play then something really stupid. Poor McIntyre decided to have a bad night with the boot. And I reckon Coops did ok with the reffing altho am sure the 1st Rebs try was a forward pass right in front of us. More direct running, less shovelling the ball, sharper passing, defence was great & Timani had good impact. Just pissed off when they were ona roll & the lights go out- whT a circus, go figure! The rugby gods must hate us.
I must say that was a hard loss to cop, we lost it on line breaks and the rebels had a few brilliant runs, but I didn't feel the ref was completely unbiased. That being said cant blame refs as we should have closed the game out, but losing 2-3mins with only 5 mins to go due to a scrum is hard to swallow. I was very pissed at the siren, but given 5 mins to cool down all I felt was the boys should hold their heads up high as they played well. Proud of the Force and there was some cracking tackles tonight..great night of rugby at the Forcetress!!
Every copy of that game should be put in a dumpster and set on fire so that it never sees the light of day again.
Some good breaks made but did the schoolboy thing of throwing the "hail Mary" rather than taking it to ground and build. Lineout had a sickie and after looking good, our scrum got the wobbles when the finishers came on. All in all, we have quite a few injuries atm but are going OK. Onward!!
After the Force try, when RHP was red-carded, should it have then been a penalty at the halfway line? Or does that only pertain to offences committed after the try is scored?
Feel like we lost the momentum and the game when the lights went out. At that point the force had their heckles up and the rebels seemed frazzled.
I reckon there was a lot to like about the defensive effort last night. (Well done Def Coach - Nick Hensley)
That included reasonably good discipline inside the Rebs' half.
I struggled to identify or understand the game plan that was in place.
Obviously, not taking penalty points was one of them.
Our forwards bashing the ball over the line is obviously another - rather than using the pace we have out wide.
The dink kicks from experienced players (Kearney and Kahui) was an obvious strategy but a low % play.
We don't appear to have any change of game plan for when the opposition is down to 14 players.
(Important as it's happening a lot this year).
But not taking a lineout - after we'd just won a penalty at the lineout - was an absolute brain fade.
Especially after Sita had come on. He makes a very good target - or decoy.
All we needed was a penalty to go to extra time (Yes, I know we lost that on the previous occasion).
I'm looking forward to the time, and I want to be there, when we see this player group play at its best.
