If you have time over your lunch break, this is well worth a read. It's pretty damning imo.

About what you'd expect in a charge sheet.
They layed it all out, because that's all they can argue in court.
The rebuttal will be where it gets REALLY interesting

Thats just the AFL charges
ASADA haven't finished their investigation yet but by the look of it Essendon are gone and will be hammered
Given the positions taken by both the AFL and Essendon FC this will have the potential for an ugly drawn out court process
The winners here will be the lawyers not the fans
wonder what the reaction Hird had was
Essendon press conference on right now but I only caught the tail end of it
Edit: Hird did not confirm or deny his part only crapped on about not having his due process and had a go at the AFL for releasing the charges publicly
The Essendon officials should rethink their strategy. Their season is shot. They may be better to take the medicine now. Save face with "dont want any more damage to the game.......no admission of guilt.......taking one for the team" typestatements Then they can move on and let ADADA/WADA di their job with the individuals. They will be sued by players if they are sanctioned in any event.
The Sharks OTOH are likely faarked no matter what
This is all bad. :(

Judging by the detail behind the AFL's charges, I think WorkSafe Victoria must also conduct an investigation now to see whether any breaches of OSH laws have occurred as well. The allegations certainly suggest a lack of duty of care by the club to its employees.
I dare say that might come after ASADA publishes their finalized report as well as action from the AFL players association - especially if (probably a case of when going by the charge sheet) player infractions are issued.
I wonder what all the parents of the players think now the charges have been made public
Given the experience I've had with worksafe Victoria I don't think so. Basically unless someone died I don't think they'd be interested. They may ask for a copy of the report though.
But I'd expect the players union to absolutely lose their shit over it being Victoria...

Really? Given the profile of this case, and the number of times OHS is mentioned in the charge sheet, they really should, otherwise their credibility as an OHS regulator will be called into question.
It's awful to think that these poor young guys have seemingly been injected with god knows what and with who knows what long term consequences for their health. I really hope for their sakes that the AFL monitors their health and acts immediately if anything happens to any of them down the track.
if anything i think they will just get a copy of the final report and then decide what to do based on that
Yeah, I think they'll defo wait until the final report before doing anything. Could also depend on what the other agencies/orgs decide to do I guess.
Story's got a lot of column inches left in it that's for sure!
Hahahaha!
Alison on the same page as Jono and Jargan?? That's not something you see every day! ;p
