Glad Nick got the scoop! Haven't seen it reported elsewhere yet. NZ Mitre 10 All Stars team seems a very astute approach to including NZ.
Going to go on the bender to end all benders !!
oh, and someone get the defib ready for TWASie!
And still nothing from Rugby Australia..they are championing it all right
The thread title may be a little misleading. When exactly does the World Rugby Council meet to vote on approving World Series Rugby?
It has been recommended by the World Rugby Executive Committee but they dont undertake final approval.
It was all Raelene and Clyne's idea..

I'd prefer someone else over New Zealand, but otherwise, this is great news
Mainly because they will probably kick everyones ass. I really hope it means they raise the bar for all the other sides. One good thing about New Zealand sides are that they are so great to watch from both a spectator and skill point of view. I only see that team as raising the tournaments credibility and ofcourse it will attract alot of curious spectators to the new competition. No matter what anyone thinks right now in the current state of world rugby New Zealand sides are massive draw cards. Even Super rugby sides in Europe get large crowds for one off games.
Yeah, 'cause a side that kicks everyone's ass is just what a fledgling competition needs. The All Blacks are a great drawcard, these are not the All Blacks. Nobody around the rugby world is salivating at the thought of a visit from Manuwatu or the Highlanders.
All this will do is split the Perth and Western Sydney teams' fanbases.
Sorry to be that guy folks; I'm happy with news of the new competition, but I would have hoped Minderoo would have learnt from Super Rugby. I hope that I'm proven wrong and the Kiwis don't stack the team with Super Rugby reservists and Mitre 10 Cup Premiership talent, I hope that the whole Kiwi ex-pat rugby public in Perth and Western Sydney come to support their local professional teams in what should be a vibrant new competition; rather than come out only to support the Kiwi side when they visit and boo the locals.
I hope I'm proven wrong.
I think I'll be patient and wait for the official announcement from Minderoo/Western Force before I comment further.
