Top stuff.
Based on this original outline they were going to play Rebels and Brumbies U18 sides to feed into a Combined States side to play NSW and Qld later in the year for national selection. I'm guessing the Vics might have been covid-ed out?
Hmm..Hugo Welborn..any relation to John?
They lost going by the latest Instagram post, no mention of the score.
Nepotism most likely
I found the game on youtube. The NSW team was called NSW Barbarians

Pretty poor that there is no information from RA. Growing the Game!?
I have since watched the WA U18 vs Brumbies U18 on youtube. No commentary, but the ref and his assistants were miked up, so you could hear clearly hear what they were saying to each other and to the players. You could also hear all the players shouting and F-bombs in the scrums etc.
Brumbies were step up in quality from NSW Barbarians, but WA had them 14-7 down until 10 minutes before the end.
Good game to watch. Stick with the sound on, because the quality improves.
I agree with that. In the absence of an NRC, and frankly even as what should be an integral part of one, Australian rugby should have a well structured and much commented program for these age groups. They are the ages where the biggest and most important gains are made and the future set for these players, and it all feels just a little 'make it up as you go along. At he moment it is about the only genuinely national rugby that happens.
