Played both
Thanks. Just thinking about recruitment for next year. Realise we're only half way through the season, but better to plan early.
I suspect that few of the Argentinian contingent will re-sign for next year as they'll be looking for European contracts if they're available. I'm a little surprised that Cubelli signed a 2 year contract, but then he knows Australia better than the others; I'd think he's still young enough to get a contract in Europe or Japan, though, if he wanted one.
Do we have a 2022 thread?
This was in The West
Rebels scrum-half Theo Strang training with Force
Strang, 23, who played for Panasonic Wild Knights before joining the Rebels made four Super appearances last year.
He also also plays for Sydney University in the Shute Shield.
Strang could be called into the Super squad if one of the two current No.9’s Tomas Cubelli or Ian Prior is injured as Michael McDonald is already out with a foot injury.
I also think he'd be one who is likely to say yes to an extension. It's fair to think that the Argies will command pretty hefty salaries in Europe since they're current internationals and will be big draw cards. Bobby would likely be looking more at the after rugby equation now and a potential to extend into coaching or media after playing might help to get him over the line.
The weather would work in our favour as well
K-Bomb, Thank you for the memories and all you gave for the Force in both stints with the club.
Great ambassodor for the club both on and off the field.
Best of luck with life after retirement and your new venture.
Kbomb retires
Cannot get behind the pay wall on The West, but Nick Taylor saying a dozen players leaving.
Off the top of my head: Kearney, Lance, Kurundrani, Longbottom, Brache, Heilburg, Taefu, Lezanu, Cubelli, Miotti, Placid and not sure of number 12
