He has a very accurate kick, he just might have to move his sights a little left.
"in whatever position he's asked to play" sounds like they might be moving him to 10 for this game...
a move to 10 and a lot closer to Ma'a Nonu?
OConnor is not scared of Nonu, he faced up to him last year and did well... sure he got hammered in his first game at 12 but he is one tough cookie and didnt seem worse for wear after what arguably was the biggest hit of 2009...
my concern is preventable risk from injury... Play him at 10 for the Chiefs a week later... I know he will give it his best but the Force can't afford injury to him week 2...
a risk they MAY have to take... I but he'll be plan B regardless...
I don't have a huge problem with him against Nonu, PROVIDED he has bigger players either side.
The problem would be if he is in combination with a light weight #10, ie Hunt.
A pairing for the future, but one to get experience independently.
I think you'll find that's a pre match quote and a standard line for the last few weeks since Andre got knobbled Zim.
Getting a bit repetitive on the Stefano/Rabbit pairing - not on sa a starting combo against the 'Canes end of story.
I don't have a problem with playing Rabbit at 10. From day one he's shown he can defend strongly in the midfield when he was not a strong as now. Very courageous for his age. If Cross is fit I'd move him to 12 and Josh to 13 and Dane to 15. Sare and Inman on the wings. Harry to the bench.
Dane has had a cloud over his catching according to some. Remember Mitchell's first appearance for us? He deserves a chance to shine and if it works out it could go in our favor, should the 'Canes decide to target him.
So you think DHP is going to sort out his catching but end up with a shit kick shasta? ;)
From my understanding Bart will be back for round 3 so JOC may only have to cover 10 for this week only - doesn't mean he has to move there permanently. Its a big ask considering the Canes inside backs but at this level he will be up against world class backs with most of the S14 teams... who knows, he may have a blinder! One thing for sure they will have to come up with a game plan to limit the Canes backs from wreaking havoc. Nonu, Smith, Gear etc have the potential to do real damage to our injury-depleted backline. I think our forwards are going to be very tired boys by the end of 80 minutes!...
Your Drew analogy ;)
