Hi Coach
Fire Bans come intom place in stages 1ST stage in usally starts 15 th Oct ( Changes from Shire to shire )were you can apply for a permitt to burn and that is issued by a shire fire control officer and then on 15th of NOV it is blanket ban over all shires in rural areas NO naked flames. but search thru your local shire to confirm dates and conditions as some are not a strict as others and some dates are different to others
depends on the area coach .. In a national park no matter what time of year they're banned however there are designated camping places which you are allowed to have a camp fire between dates that the local shire (or DEC) dictates, they also have rules on open or closed wood fires which again are very different between sites.
www.dec.wa.gov.au and check out camping for visitors
hey coach read this
Fire Restrictions
As the environment we live in is very bush fire prone, there is a need to restrict or prohibit the lighting of fires in the open air or restrict activities likely to cause a fire.
In the Shire, the restricted and prohibited burning times are as follows.
Restricted Burning Times
1st November to 14th December each year (inclusive) – Permits Required
15th March to 30th April each year (inclusive)
Prohibited Burning Times
15th December to 14th March (inclusive) – No Fires
The above dates are subject to variation and alterations will be published in a local newspaper circulating the district.
Restricted Burning Time Requirements
The restricted burning time means the times of the year during which it is declared by the Authority under section 18 of the Bush Fires Act 1954 to be unlawful to set fire to the bush within a zone of the State except in accordance with a permit obtained under that section.

I got this straight from shire of murray
good info Tonkar, just need to check where you are going but Murray should cover Dwellingup if that is where you are going!
Another tip - take your own wood .. don't get caught pilfering the park for it (rangers do patrol every weekend, some even sell wood from their landcruiser :) !!) and get in early - if you are only allowed to have fires in a provided fire drum and they're all taken, then you won't be able to have one.
Dont forget irrespective of campsite/shire rules, a declaration of total fire ban trumps all.
and unfortunately common sense doesn't .. don't get me started on the court cases of these fire starting peanuts up in the hills that is going on right now
