There's no getting away from it - this was a shellacking!! Let's hope Chieka doesn't sugarcoat the second half.
Our whole back row was ineffective.
Kerevi was shite. Rona did some good things but also missed tackles.
We have to start with Taf as hooker. And Timani at 8, or bring back Ben McCalman. And beg Pocock to cut short his sabbatical. In the meantime, call up Hardwick and Naisarani....
I reckon Meakes should be on the field next week...
I just hate it when coaches and players say "We just lacked intensity... we just didn't have the attitude we wanted..." Why the hell not!! This is the Bledisloe FFS!!!
Your joking aren't you? At half time Cheika blamed the players for not been intense enough. It's nothing to do with his selections or game plan. Especially since we scored 28 points in the second half, which means the golf club at half time worked again. Yay let's look forward to Eden park.
Cheika will blame everyone but himself.
So i watched a game of rugby tonight, apparently important but i have no emotion behind it (my Wallabies jersey is at home on my couch, my mates ABs is worn proudly) second time i write this as it refreshed and i lost my game analysis... (so a little thin compared)
Rona apparently came from NRL Bulldogs, never played super or came from WA pathways, thanks Fox medium, wait sorry bitches.
Coleman, well once again not Western Force, not Tassie, not his Rugby rich family and not ignored by the Tahs... well done Aussie representatives (sell outs)...
Moore has the heart, but 2019...
Hannigan i like but, yet or with Hooper sorry mate due to no fault of your own...
Hooper for fuck sake chase with your heart. ..
Foley well finally i can say its the refs fault... that barrett wasnt awarded his try, way to celebrate your fuck up.
Beale, thank god you came off the bench at half time... oh wait...
Genia well here we go. Lucky the $800 000 isnt performance based
I dunno Foloau surely GWS taught you to kick a fuckin ball,
AB wise congrats on bringing in new talent mixed with old and succeeding, another minimum 5 years of Darkness
I only watched the first half. The only points I have is the first try came from a forward pass to Liam Squires (not that it would have mattered in the end) and, secondly, Izzy needs to learn to tackle. Missed one of the other tryscorers (again wouldn't have mattered in this game).
Lost it in the centres and the back row. There seems to be no defensive structure or trust.
All blacks back row 50 tackles and 3 misses.
All blacks centres 19 tackles and 3 misses.
Wallabies back row 23 tackles and 4 misses.
Wallabies centre 11 tackles and 7 misses.
All blacks back row 24 runs for 159 metres
All blacks centres 16 runs for 117 metres
Wallabies back row 21 runs for 18 metres.
Wallabies centres 20 runs for 134 metres.
The Force boys all played well. Tafs was good when he came on, Coleman did a lot of good work in tight and Rona showed good urgency and was willing to get stuck in unlike his 12/13 combo inside him in the first half. How Kurtley got MOM is beyond me. The All Blacks ran in 5 of their 6 first half tries through our centres to effectively end the game by half time, not exactly best on ground stuff. Kerevi was dragged rightfully so and Beale is in the same basket as Genia, the ARU payed millions they don't have just to bring him back when Billy Meakes has been Aussies best 12 in Super Rugby and would have defended much better then Beale.
Rona struggled a bit from having two blokes inside him who wouldn't (or couldn't) tackle, and no full-back in position. That mean't he was tackling side on as he struggled to cover for dawdling team mates, something you don't want to do against the Blecks.
Maybe it was my imagination but it seems he eventually moved to outside centre in defence and left Folau to be steamrolled on the wing. Maybe that was the cunning game plan we've been hearing about.
Well what a day.
One thing I learnt early on in life is the 6 P's. Prior Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
So I purchased 3 600ml bottles of sugar free Coca-Cola. Which I added a healthy belt of Bundabergs finest Rum to each.
I then loaded my hip flask with Rum. Just in case I needed some more.
And then on to Rugby. Semi Final Rugby in the Sydney Subbies 2nd Division competition. The mighty men of HAC were up against the not so mighty lads of Hunters Hill. To say the match was played on an absolute goat track would be an understatement. But the field had the requirements of a Subbies Semi-Final. It had a fence around it so that Subbies can charge $15 entry fee. For Adults. Kids get in for free. The wind was upwards of 40 - 60 km/h, a lot of players had problems with dirt in their eyes. It was shocking. The good guys came out the victors 38-8. And we move on to the Grand Final in a Fortnight.
Back on the road to Homebush Bay aka Sydney Olympic Park. Dinner at a mighty fine Pizzeria 5 minutes from ANZ Stadium.
Arrival at the stadium- If you ever get the chance to get corporate seating here - I would highly recommend it. High back padded seats away from the unwashed masses.
So - as promised ARU got none of my money.
I spotted about a dozen people around me representing the Force.
We left at the 60 minute mark. The match was a debacle. Some nice comments from people to me about the Western Force as we left.
Soooooo.....just like Tahrds supporters ;)
