and he;s a good NUDGEE boy
In fact, I personally think that the emphasis on Giteau and dependency it fostered in attack was one of the key factors in our ordinary outcome for the season.
He'd just buy new shoes wouldn't he?
I think the bias truck is a little overloaded putting Drewballs in the same class as Gits though.
Drew is a very quick and often elusive runner, but on rewatching the seasons matches this week it is becoming more apparent to me that he is a bit of a one trick pony.
He has only the one foot to kick with and often gets caught trying to get on to that foot to kick. His wide (ie chasing to one side or the other) defence is often paper thin and he was often exploited in counter attacking moves.
I'm not saying he isn't a good player, just that he isn't a great player, even if the chicks think he's a spunk ;)
:offtopic:
Anyway, what happened to Ratu's thread, he only has a couple.
Burgs: He was horrendous last season yet turned it on during the world cup well and truely...the season isn't over yet before you pigeon hole him, the Force attack, as Andy said, has been relying more on Giteau and hasn't had much imagination about it...
did this thread start off, all about Ratu.??? Focus people focus..!!!
Ratu would be an asset in the Wallabies. Replace Shmoo with Ratu (it even rhymes).
I would think it fairly normal for an attack to focus on its Flyhalf?
I do agree with the sentiment last season though when it was very focused on Gits regardless of position and at the expense of a fairly handy existing combination.
Re Drew, I'm sure he will continue to have great games as the season unfolds however they will continue to limited to strong runs in broken play punctuated with bad kicks, sloppy takles, getting isolated and those stupid bunny hops that seem to have crept in to many of Australia's Backs package.
Watching the highlights of every week, you see the best Backs in S14 getting the ball at speed and running like they were possesed at the defence.
Australians at the moment are acting more like League players with a half paced jogging return, a couple of Benji Marshall air hops and then run straight "between" the two strongest tacklers.
I find it very frustrating.
KwooWade is guilty of this, big time. Lote does the half jog thing but at least he keeps his arms free to offload most of the time. Now, if he could do it at full pace.... Cross kinda does this pretty well, but he needs a haircut.
Are you sure Lote isn't running full pace? I mean, he hasn't gone any faster for years....leaving it in reserve?
I like to think he is leaving something in reserve

Go watch the videos of randwick if you wanna see ratu playing.... big guy :O
