Bill Pulver is of the view that direct grants to Shite Shield clubs will largely be spent on player payments to strengthen the positions of the inner city power clubs. History would suggest he's right there in that the system has seen little improvement in the rest of Sydney and NSW. He plans to direct funding through the State Unions instead. Will that go better?......... Who knows.

Yeah - but his idea of "grass roots" is to go back to the days of the inner Sydney clubs getting back their power base - and the funding they squandered on first grade player payments to the detriment of the other clubs and their development.

As long as you ignore his consistent undertone that all of that money should go to the Shite shield clubs. For Chrissie, they don't even want to share with clubs in their comp who are located in Western Sydney

Showed himself a class one hypocrite today. After all his bleating about the folly of 5 Super franchises, he said that if he was running the show he'd put a team in Western Sydney. Pretty consistant with his constant trashing of the NRC after he had tried to put together a Western Sydney franchise and couldn't get the gig?
