Not that I have to justify my personal opinions and interpretations to anyone, but suffice to say that when I use the term "smacks of" it means "reminds me of", not "it's the replica of".
And given what Wholetruth has said, it seems that the term "back down" did indeed imply something more akin to the Genia situation than merely deciding not to pursue negotiations further.
End of conversation.
let's face it .. we just want someone who when the time comes to kick at goals - we want to be thinking "we got this" rather than "i hope he kicks it this time"
International Management Group - www.imgworld.com/
probably the largest management group in the world - Think Gerry McGuire - "Show me the money"
Did I say it was gospel? No, I said it's my opinion; speculation; inferences I have drawn; call it what you want.
I don't care where he goes - as you say, it has nothing to do with us/me.
Ultimately, I don't care WHERE anyone goes - it's the manner in which some of them/their managers seem to go about the whole negotiation process that I find so damn galling.
If details of contract negotiations get into the press it's generally because someone has deliberately put something out there, probably in the hope that it'll be spun in a way that best suits the objective they are ultimately trying to seek. They should be completely private and leaks should be subject to severe sanction - whoever it is who does the leaking.
As a final comment, I do not bag every player who leaves the Force. For example, I had no problem with Pocock leaving. I do bag those who IN MY OPINION leave in ways which I PERSONALLY find dishonourable e.g. just coming for a big pay day and dissing the team & the place after they've sucked the bank dry and gone back to where they came from. I know that's the reality of the professional environment these days, and I hear all the arguments about making as much money as they can, while they can. Doesn't mean I have to like it though.
There's truth to the rumour of JOC wanting to come back. His dad was involved in the Force re-signing negotiations and unfortunately stuffed things up to the point JOC had to go to the Rebels, which was his last choice. Force management/ 3rd party sponsors had no choice but to pull out. IMG came up with the "brand" bollocks and unfortunately inflated JOC's ego to the point where nobody likes a pretentious smart-ass little sh*t, which he became. He's not stupid and knows he'll make more $$ at the Force and will have the opportunity to impress Deans in any position he wants to. Let's be honest we don't have anyone in our backs to touch him.
When I first heard this story I was not impressed by the idea but when you sit down and think about it "it really sounds like a good idea".
He's matured and is probably embarrassed by the whole KPI saga.
If we can get him back if you can Force management. We need someone with his skills!
what a remarkably mature way have a discussion...
you realise this is public right? when you post something that makes it seem as if you have a tin foil hat on it will be commented on.
you've tarred hanson with the same brush as genia without an ounce of proof.
which i'm still glad the situation resolved itself the way it did. if he didnt want to be here, i'm glad he realised before he was stuck here for at least one season.
ma'food is bad enough for not wanting to be here, we def dont need someone else who isnt going to pull their weight.
