The Australian reporting that Folau Fainga may be heading this way next year.
Would be a good get and shore up the much needing hooking stocks.
Would definitely be a good get, although I'd probably prefer Pollard or McInerney from the Brumbies to be honest. Certainly a significant upgrade on Ready though.
I hope we're putting a big effort into getting Kerevi though. I think having him in our team would make a world of difference, as we saw with his injection into the Wallabies last year.
In no particular order (and not knowing if O/S players are off contract):
Ollie Hoskins, Eloff, another Hooker (before I heard the FF rumor), RHP, another quality Lock, big bopper No.8, experienced 10 to guide the young ones (some like a Mike Harris perhaps), Jock Campbell.
Fox Sports have posted the article in full:
Fresh from unveiling Simon Cron as their incoming coach, the Western Force are on the cusp of announcing Folau Fainga’a as their next big recruit.
The Wallabies’ first-choice hooker is set to leave the Brumbies and join the Force on a one-year deal. He might not be the only Wallabies regular to leave at season’s end either, with fullback Tom Banks garnering massive interest in Japan.
It’s a shrewd bit of business from Rugby Australia because they risked losing the rake, who had been offered a deal to join to French Top 14 club Lyon.
Had he gone overseas, it would have meant Australia’s three best hookers would be playing in France, with Brandon Paenga-Amosa joining Tolu Latu in the competition this season.
I don't know that tolu katu counts as one of Australia's 3 best hoikers. Folau faingaa needs a push as well
There is a rumour going around about Tanilea Tupou to the Force next season. How true it is, I don't know, but would be very surprised. Maybe negotiating tactic.
While I sincerely doubt it, he is good mates with Kaitu'u I gather. He would be an amazing pick up. I'd give us a pretty dynamite set piece.
I worry what other tighthead and outside centre options are going around- we need some of those.
If Tupou signs for the Force, with the way we get our scrum refereed, he will get pinged for the 30° angle he sets up at in every scrum!
Negotiating tactic, a bit like the Fainga'a. Read that Hodgo has denied any knowledge same as Tony Lewis. Although like Fergus wanted kept out of media maybe so maybe do these players and the Force admin is a bit more respectful...
