I was at the pub. We all swore it missed and couldn't believe it was waived good
Strangest it was never replayed or spoken about at all ;)

If the attacking team takes the ball into the in goal a defensive player may play the ball dead that way as long as it's immediate. Kicking it dead is also fine as long as it's immediate as well. Restart is a 22m dropout.
I had that in a junior game i reffed last year and wasn't 100% sure until i was able to look it up after the game. Luckily i made the right call at the time.
And the knock into dead ball on the Chris Alcock chargedown? Should have been a Force 5m scrum and not a 22?
The Laws
When the ball touches the touch-in-goal line or the dead ball line, or touches anything or anyone beyond those lines, the ball becomes dead. If the ball was played into in-goal by the attacking team, a drop-out shall be awarded to the defending team. If the ball was played into in-goal by the defending team, a 5-metre scrum shall be awarded and the attacking team throws in the ball.
As the ball was kicked into the goal by the force it is the correct call
Gerry, agree re the kick but what would I know?
It was about the only decision that the referee didn't pass on to the Video adjudicator.
Centimeter perfect Frank :-)
I don't care we bloody won!
Yes that's correct, but it doesn't have to be immediately. That only comes into affect when a kick off/restart goes into ingoal, then the ball have to be made dead immediately to have a scrum on halfway line, otherwise 22m drop.
The Allcock decision was correct as Force took it into ingoal.
The PK from Cooper were suspicious.
However Dellit should have been penalised.
Law 10.2(c)
Throwing into touch. A player must not intentionally knock, place, push or throw the ball with his arm or hand into touch, touch-in-goal, or over the dead ball line.
Sanction: Penalty kick on the 15-metre line if the offence is between the 15-metre line and the touchline, or, at the place of infringement if the offence occured elsewhere in the field of play, or, 5 metres from the goal line and at least 15 metres from the touchline if the infringement occured in in-goal.
A penalty try must be awarded if the offence prevents a try that would probably otherwise have been scored
LOVE IT, Rex! Couldn't agree more. How sweet is it to watch these Reds fans try to figure out how they lost a game they thought was a walkover?
Now if my source would just post the match video, I could actually watch it...
Is this the start of a nice little roll, with the home opener up next? No letdowns.
